Facebook shares fell 5.4%, reflecting expectations that focused on advertising revenues go did worse than expected. The fall was 5.4%, setting a new record low (U $ S18, 06) at the close of the NYSE.

BUENOS AIRES (Urgente24.) – Shares of social network Facebook fell again this Friday (31/08) 5.4%, setting a new record low (U $ S18, 06) at the close of the Stock New York. The low response to the expectations that focused on advertising revenues that go did worse than expected.

In its IPO in May, the shares cost U $ S 8, more than double. The trigger for the fall of 4% was a study by the market research firm eMarketer, which experts significantly revised down its forecasts for Facebook.

For this year the forecasts changed as they expect sales of $ s5.000 million instead of the $ s6.100 million targeted in a report last February.

It is clear that advertising is still the main source of income of Facebook. The company expects an increase, but very limited, eMarketer said, because it is not clear that some forms of advertising to reach the 955 million users of the social network.
